By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 President Joseph Biden of the United States has pledged support to Africa’s struggle for 2 permanent seats in the United Nations Security Council, stressing that Nigeria deserves one of the seat, giving her status.

President Biden, who called President Tinubu on the phone, also expressed delight with the level of progress in the partnership of the two countries.

Briefing State House correspondents on their conversation, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alhaji Yusuf Tugga, said Mr. Biden also thanked Nigeria for her collaboration in security affairs.

The Minister said the US President acknowledged that the future of the world resided in Africa, thus the need for the US to maintain her collaboration to the Continent.

He said Mr. Biden equally appreciated the release of one of the suspects of the crypto-currency exchange company, Tigran Gambaryan, who was held in Nigeria.

Alhaji Tugga said President Tinubu also thanked the US for collaborating with Nigeria and Africa in numerous areas, and pledged to stay in touch with Mr. Biden, who leaves office after the forthcoming US presidential election.
