KEBBI STATE FLAGS OFF DISTRIBUTION OF DRY SEASON FARMING, RAMADAN FOOD PACKAGES                                                                                                       06-03-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                      The Kebbi State Government, has flagged off the distribution of dry season farming and Ramadan food package to farmers and people of the state by directing security agencies to arrest anyone found selling the inputs and the food.

Speaking on the occasion, the state governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, stated that, 200,000 medium scale farmers across the 21 local government areas of the state will benefit from the programme.

The Governor explained that, provision of the farm implements to farmers would assist towards boosting food security in the state.

He called on religious and community leaders and as well government officials charge with the distribution to ensure even distribution and to ensure it gets to the grassroot.

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, said President Bola Tinubu, was working tirelessly to improve agriculture by encouraging every sector of the community to key into the agricultural initiative by government.

He said, the inputs distribution to farmers in Kebbi state was to boost 2025 dry farming activities for increase output of food in the state to curb out food security.

The State Commissioner for Agriculture, Alhaji Shehu Mu’azu, stated that, the state government is committed to improve output and curb food security.

He said, the government gesture was to stand the hardship of farmers during the dry season as well to alleviate the suffering of the poor during the month of Ramadan.

The inputs provided include
3000 Power tillers 10,000 Solar powered pumps, 5000 LPG pumps, 10,000 Gassolin pumps 10,000 Insecticide sprayers among others.
