SECURITY TEAM NEUTRALIZES LAKURAWA KINGPIN IN KEBBI 07-03-25
By Sadiq Aminu. A combined team of security operatives, including vigilantes, have eliminated a notorious Lakurawa kingpin (Maigemu) in Kebbi State.
A statement by the Director Security Cabinet office, Alhaji AbdulRahman Usman Zagga, said Maigemu was neutralized on Thursday at Kuncin Baba in Arewa Local Government area with challenging terrain, after a fierce gun battle.
The statement said, the success comes just a week after Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, visited Bagiza and Rausa Kade communities in Arewa Local Government area to condole with residents over the killing of six people by suspected Lakurawa cattle rustlers.
It’s stated that, the proactive approach of the state governor on security, has yielded results with the elimination of the kingpin of the Lakurawa where the corpse is available as evidence at the Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital.
The statement, Zagga urged residents to cooperate with security agencies by sharing intelligence and reporting suspicious activities in their areas to ensure lasting peace in the state.
