POLICE OPERATIVES IN ANAMBRA STATE RESCUES A KIDNAP VICTIMS IN THE STATE                                                                                                                  25-03-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                     The Operatives, comprising the Police, military and Ihiala vigilante while on patrol intercepted a black shuttle with registration number RSH 255MS that drove in a suspicious manner.

When the Operatives attempted to stop the vehicle, the armed occupants opened fire on the Joint Security team.

The Police Public Relations Officer,Mr Tochukwu Ikenga in a release, said, during the gun duel, the Joint Security team demobilised one of the armed assailants while four others abandoned the shuttle bus and escaped with various degrees of bullet wounds into a nearby bush.

He explained that the Operatives while searching the vehicle found a blindfolded victim, suspected to have been kidnapped and was tied on the hands and legs while his mouth was sealed.

The Police Image Maker said, the victim was successfully rescued, given first aid and debriefed by the Police Operatives.

Mr Ikenga said the vehicle was recovered and the Joint Security Team were still in an operation in the area for possible arrest of others on the run.

He therefore appealed to private and public hospitals to report any individual presented with bullet wounds or injuries of a suspicious nature to the nearest Police Station.

Mr Ikenga said the measure was critical to the ongoing effort to apprehend the fleeing suspects and prevent further escalation of criminal activities in the State.
