TWO SUSPECTED VANDALS NABBED IN LAGOS, POLICE RECOVER TOOLS                                                                            07-05-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                         The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the vandalism of public infrastructure at the Ile-Zik area of the state.

Acting on credible information from residents, operatives from the Isokoko Division apprehended the suspects—Peter James, 26, and Lesipi Adamu, 24—on April 22, 2025, while they were allegedly removing iron rods embedded in roadside concrete barriers.

Police spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that officers recovered several tools believed to have been used in the act, including two sledgehammers, two cutting saws, and a pair of scissors. He also noted that a manhunt is ongoing for other individuals who managed to flee the scene during the arrest.

The suspects have since been charged to court on counts of conspiracy, theft, and intentional destruction of public assets. The recovered items have been documented and presented as part of the court proceedings.

Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, condemned the vandalism, emphasizing its risks to public safety and infrastructure integrity. He reiterated the police command’s dedication to protecting the people and property of Lagos State.
