PARENTS IN KATSINA CALL ON STATE GOVERNMENT TO REOPEN 22 TERTIARY HEALTH INSTITUTIONS, REVIEW COMMITTEE REPORTS                                                                                          10-06-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                        Parents of the Students of Tertiary Health Institutions closed down by the Katsina state government has appeal to Governor Dikko Umar Radda to review the reports of the two committees and to reopen the schools for academic activities.

The Chairman of the Parents Teachers Association of Alliance School of Health science Shema, Dutsinma Malam Sani Ahmed made the appeal at a press conference held in Dutsinma, Katsina State.

Malam Sani Ahmad said the steps taken by the state government to sanitize the system is a good idea as the life of people would be treated professionally.

He said this exercise can be carried on while academic activities are on adding that professional and regulatory bodies should be included in the exercise so as to make it professionally and academically acceptable.

The Chairman of the association also emphasize that, the two committees have done their own findings but the outcome of the investigation lacks merits and was done based on political sentiment which would not yield positive results to governor Dikko Radda and his administration.

Similarly, Malam Shamsu who is a parent said the closure of such institutions would not yield positive result as over ten thousand students remain stranded, idol doing nothing and urged Governor Dikko Umar Radda to do something urgently to avoid involvement of students into criminalities.

According to him, the two committee’s work is misleading the government as they put personal interest while carrying their primary responsibilities as some schools were openly dissatisified not meeting the said standard.

He added that, parents have spent a lot for their children to further their education but government closed down such health institutions without any notice which turned their children into street and complementary begging.

In her contribution, a mother of three children who are students of the Alliance Malama Nana said her children are all orphans but she managed to sponsor them to study in that school despite economic challenges, then she appeal to governor Radda to look into their complain and reopen the remaining 22 tertiary health institutions.

According to her, to educate a woman is like to educate the nation and those students are partners of progress as they contribute in many health facilities across the state.

In their separate remarks, the students representatives Rabilu Kabir and Fatima Abdullahi urge governor Dikko Radda to look into their request and to open schools for academic activities as their mates in other states are running their programs.
