APC CONFIRMS GANDUJE RESIGNATION AS DALORI TAKES OVER                                                                                          30-06-25

By Sadiq Aminu                                                    The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed the resignation of its National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, with immediate effect, citing personal reasons for his decision to step down from the helm of the ruling party.

In a statement issued on by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party revealed that Ganduje tendered his resignation through a letter addressed to the National Working Committee (NWC) via the National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru.

The former Kano State governor stated that his resignation was necessary to enable him “attend to urgent and important personal matters.”

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has since directed the Deputy National Chairman (North), Alhamdulillahi Ali Bukar Dalori, to take over in acting capacity, pending the convening of the National Executive Committee (NEC) to formally elect a new chairman.

Ganduje took over as APC chairman in August 2023, following the resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu.

During his time in office, he was credited with strengthening party unity, championing democratic principles, and enhancing the APC’s electoral competitiveness.

His leadership was further solidified in February 2025 when the NEC and National Caucus reaffirmed their confidence in him during crucial meetings that shaped the party’s internal structure and direction.

The APC highlighted Ganduje’s achievements, including a series of high-profile defections from opposition parties and the judicial validation of the party’s leadership structures under his watch.

Despite his exit, the party assured its members and the public of continued commitment to delivering good governance under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.

“We remain steadfast and unwavering in our mission to deliver transformative governance for all Nigerians,” the statement read.

The NWC expressed appreciation for Ganduje’s “invaluable contributions and distinguished record of service” and wished him continued success in his future endeavors.
