Adamawa State has declared a 24-hour curfew in Lamurde after renewed clashes between the Bachama and Chobo communities left many feared dead. The violence erupted Saturday, with reports that several people, including seven women protesters, lost their lives.
Police have deployed Mobile Police units to curb further unrest. According to the command, the long-running dispute, tied to land and boundary tensions, triggered another confrontation when armed groups clashed in a border area.
Security forces remain on ground, urging residents to stay calm and obey the curfew as efforts continue to restore peace.
