PDP SETS MARCH 28/29 FOR NATIONAL CONVENTION IN ABUJA

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Peoples Democratic Party has fixed March 28–29, 2026, for its National Convention, scheduled to hold in Abuja. The decision was taken at the party’s 105th National Executive Committee meeting held in the capital.

The party said the convention will pave the way for a smooth transition to an elected national leadership, with preparatory congresses expected to begin in February 2026. The PDP leadership also reaffirmed the continuation of its caretaker structures until the convention is held.

Party leaders called on members nationwide to remain united and committed to strengthening the PDP ahead of the convention, stressing the need for discipline and cohesion during the transition period.
