The Labour Party has warned its members, supporters and political aspirants against obtaining nomination forms from former National Chairman, Julius Abure, describing such documents as invalid and unauthorised.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ken Asogwa, the party accused Abure of impersonation and attempting to mislead unsuspecting aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party stated that Nenadi Usman remains the recognised National Chairman and insisted that all legitimate nomination forms for elective positions can only be obtained through the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
The statement followed the circulation of images on social media allegedly showing Abure presenting nomination forms to some individuals in Abia State.
The Labour Party further alleged that Abure’s continued claim to the office of national chairman amounts to impersonation, stressing that the leadership dispute had already been addressed by the courts and recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The warning comes amid the lingering leadership crisis within the party following disagreements between the Abure faction and the Nenadi Usman-led caretaker committee.
