SENATOR MUSTAPHA DISTRIBUTES N1.5BN FARM INPUTS TO KWARA FARMERS

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Saliu Mustapha, has distributed farm inputs worth N1.5 billion to thousands of smallholder farmers across Kwara State to boost agricultural production and enhance food security.

Speaking at the flag-off of the distribution in Ilorin, the senator, represented by the Director-General of his constituency office, Adebayo Ambali, said the intervention was part of his commitment to supporting farmers and complementing the Federal Government’s efforts to improve food production.

He urged beneficiaries to make proper use of the inputs to maximise yields during the current farming season, reaffirming his commitment to programmes that improve the livelihoods of farmers.

The Chairman of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) in Kwara, Shuaibu Salman, described the intervention as timely, saying it would increase agricultural output and support efforts to tackle food insecurity.

Similarly, the Kwara State Coordinator of the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN), Mohammed Solihu, commended the senator for his continued support for farmers, describing the initiative as a significant boost to agricultural development in the state.

The distribution, which is the sixth phase of Senator Mustapha’s agricultural support programme, is expected to benefit thousands of farmers across the four local government areas of Kwara Central.
