By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Vice President Kashim Shettima has restated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to peace, security, and stability in the Gulf of Guinea.

Speaking in Abuja while hosting Gulf of Guinea Commission (GGC) Executive Secretary, Jose Abeso, Shettima said Nigeria will continue to support regional cooperation and the AU’s 2050 Integrated Maritime Strategy.

Abeso urged Nigeria’s leadership in reforms, including expanding membership to all 19 coastal states, tackling high shipping insurance costs, and strengthening the Combined Maritime Taskforce.
