FIRST LADY DISBURSES ₦1.9BN TO 9,500 ELDERLY NIGERIANS

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has disbursed ₦1.9 billion to 9,500 vulnerable elderly Nigerians under the Renewed Hope Initiative Elderly Support Scheme.

Speaking at the flag-off in Gusau, Zamfara State, she said the programme is aimed at supporting senior citizens and ensuring they live with dignity and comfort. Each beneficiary will receive ₦200,000 as part of the 2025 intervention.

Mrs Tinubu described the support as a way of honouring older Nigerians for their contributions to nation-building and easing their burden, especially during the festive season.
