PDP NATIONAL SECRETARIAT TO REOPEN MONDAY — ANYANWU

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national secretariat, sealed by the police in November 2025, will reopen on Monday, according to Senator Samuel Anyanwu of the party’s National Caretaker Committee backed by Nyesom Wike. Anyanwu made this known in Abuja after a consultative meeting between political parties and INEC, insisting that there is only one PDP and no factional division.

He said a court declined requests by a rival group, clearing the way for the party to return to its secretariat and fully prepare for upcoming elections. Anyanwu added that party members are relieved, as concerns over fielding candidates have now been resolved.

Meanwhile, the Kabiru Tanimu Turaki-led PDP National Working Committee faulted INEC’s invitation of the Wike-backed group to the meeting, describing it as provocative. The faction said it would pursue legal options and urged party members to remain calm while awaiting the outcome of pending cases at the Court of Appeal.
