The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected a petition challenging the outcome of the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election won by Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Mohammed, announced the party’s position on Wednesday in Abuja, saying the petition before the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal was neither authorised nor endorsed by the party.
Mohammed said the petition was filed without the approval of the PDP leadership and that the party’s legal department had begun moves to remove its name from the proceedings.
He added that the party’s governorship candidate, Adebayo Adedamola, had also denied involvement in the petition.
The PDP urged the tribunal, INEC and other relevant authorities to disregard the petition as an official action of the party and called for an investigation into the use of its name without authorisation.
The party warned that it would take appropriate action against anyone found to have acted in its name without approval.
