PLATEAU STATE GOVERNMENT TO SET UP COMMITTEE TOWARDS RE-ALLIGNING EDUCATION SECTOR                                                                                                                  06-05-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                               A Committee to be saddle with the responsibility of re-alligning the education sector in Plateau State is to be set up.

This was made known by Governor Caleb Mutfwang while on working visit to the Plateau State University, PLASU in Bokkos Local Government Area.

Addressing the different stakeholders, Governor Caleb Mutfwang noted that in view of the Paramount rule education plays in the development of every society, it became imperative to review the sector with a view to addressing some of the challenges confronting it to meet the current trend.

Governor Mutfwang who lamented the security challenges being experienced in the Institution, emphasized the need for a synergy between the University community and critical stakeholders towards addressing such ugly incidences.

Earlier, Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Shadrach Best described the ruralisation of the Institution as part of the challenges affecting the effective running of the Institution.

Professor Best said, despite the numerous challenges bedeviling the institution, tremendous achievements, has been recorded since it’s 17 years of existence.

The Governor’s visit was climaxed with a tour of facilities in the Institution including the Agricultural Services and Training Centre, ASTC located near the University’s domain.
