By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Kano State Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency (DMCSA) has cleared over ₦1.13 billion from an inherited debt of ₦1.17 billion, marking a major boost to its financial stability and operations.

The Director General of the agency, Pharm. Gali Sule, disclosed this at the Q4 2025 Quarterly Review Meeting, noting that only ₦46 million remains outstanding. He said the achievement reflects strong financial discipline, transparency, and responsible management, which have repositioned the agency for improved healthcare delivery across the state.
Pharm. Sule added that the agency’s finances have significantly improved, moving from a negative balance to a strong positive position, while internal reforms have strengthened accountability and efficiency.

Commending the progress, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, praised the management and staff for their commitment and urged them to sustain the momentum in line with the state government’s drive for transparency and better healthcare outcomes under Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The review meeting provided an opportunity to assess performance and reinforce strategies aimed at sustaining financial stability and enhancing service delivery.
