ADC RAISES CONCERNS OVER COURT RULING ON NDC

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has expressed concern over the Federal High Court ruling setting aside its earlier judgment recognising the National Democratic Coalition (NDC), describing the development as a challenge to Nigeria’s democratic process.

In a statement, ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the ruling could weaken opposition parties and reduce political competition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The party urged the judiciary to uphold its independence and called on political stakeholders, civil society organisations and Nigerians to defend constitutional democracy and the rule of law.

ADC maintained that it would continue to pursue lawful means to protect political participation and democratic values in the country.
