NDC AFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO TRAINING PATRIOTIC FUTURE LEADERS FOR UNITY AND DEVELOPMENT                                                                                                                              07-11-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                              The National Defence College has reaffirmed its commitment to training future strategic leaders equipped with the requisites knowledge needed to harness the instrument of National power in a dynamic defence and secured environment.

The commandant of the college, Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Morakinyo Olotu stated this on a courtesy visit to the Sultan Palace in Sokoto state.

The commandant who was represented by the secretary of the college and the team leader of the visit Air Vice Marshall Dauda said the course thirty three participants of the National Defence College are presently in Sokoto on a study tour.

He said the theme of the study tour is strengthening institution for National security and development in Nigeria , Sokoto state in respective.

He noted that the college is dedicated to training selected senior military officers, selected senior police officers and selected senior civil servant.

Air vice Marshall Dauda disclosed that the college is also training participants from thirty African countries and other international participants from friendly countries including Bangladesh, Brazil, India, France, Germany, Nepal and Pakistan.

He explained that the National Defence College provides the highest level of formal military education intended to inculcate a sense of advanced military professionalism and involvement in the decision making process under democratic political culture and structures.

Africa247 correspondent in Sokoto reports that the team is guided by majority leader in sokoto state House of Assembly and a former director sokoto Bureau of Sokoto caliphate history.

Air vice Marshall Dauda said their visit to the Sultan was informed by the important contributions of the Sultan as a resource person to the college stressing that the sultan had immensely contributed to the success of the college.

In a remark, his eminence the Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Saad Abubakar expressed his gratitude and pledged the Sultanate continuous support for the college development.

The sultan presented two copies of books that provides details history of sokoto caliphate which was written by the sultan.
