By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The AGILE project has increased its Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) for girls in Kano State from ₦20,000 to ₦60,000 per year.

At a sensitization event in Bebeji LGA, National CCT Coordinator Dr. Kubrah Muhammad urged parents to use the funds wisely to support girls’ education.

So far, 45,850 students are enrolled, with Bebeji having 4,984 beneficiaries. School enrollment has increased by 31% overall since the CCT began.

Kano AGILE CCT Coordinator Malam Naziri Surajo noted that recipients must maintain at least 70% attendance to remain eligible.

District Head Alhaji Sarki Yusuf Bayero emphasized responsible fund use and urged parents to instill good values in their children.

AGILE, supported by the World Bank, aims to improve access to quality education for adolescent girls in underserved areas.
