The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has convened a two-day National Stakeholders’ Discourse in Abuja to strengthen collaboration and ensure the effective implementation of the Nigeria Tax Act, 2025, ahead of its commencement on January 1, 2026.
RMAFC Chairman, Dr. Mohammed Bello Shehu, described the engagement as timely, noting that the new law harmonises tax regulations, removes duplications and supports ease of doing business, while boosting revenue for all tiers of government.
Key stakeholders at the forum agreed that the Act represents a major reset of Nigeria’s tax system, designed to promote fairness, simplify compliance, protect low-income earners and support small businesses, while restoring investor confidence.
Participants stressed that the success of the reforms must translate into real benefits for citizens and businesses, through improved transparency, stronger compliance and reduced dependence on oil revenues.
RMAFC reaffirmed its commitment to sustained engagement and coordination to ensure the Tax Act delivers lasting fiscal stability and economic growth.
