By Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Uba Sani has called on media organizations, Social media users and Macro-blogging sites to desist spreading false and unverified information that can mislead readers and cause unnecessary tension.

In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mohammed Lawal Shehu says the governor gave the call while answering questions from newsmen on his recent meeting with President Bola Tinubu and his alleged rejection of a certain individual proposed by Malam Nasir El-Rufai to replace him as a ministerial nominee.

Governor Uba Sani stated categorically that , the only true in the story published circulated in the Social media that, he held a meeting with the President while other part of the story is false.

He stressed that, the story was fabricated to create friction between him and Malam Nasir El-Rufai, arguing that, there was no time they discuss the issue of replacement with President Tinubu.

Governor Sani emphasized the need for media outlets to avoid becoming tools for mischief-makers who specialize in spreading falsehoods and divisive narratives.

While commending media organizations and bloggers who consistently ensure due diligence in reporting factual stories, Governor Sani reminded journalist of their duty as the fourth estate of the realm.
