KBSG SIGNS N2.9B CONTRACT FOR REHABILITATION AND MODERNIZATION OF BIRNIN KEBBI MOTOR PARK                                                                         29-12-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                    The Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has approved the sum of N2.9b for the rehabilitation and modernization of Birnin Kebbi central Motor Park after twent-five years of total dilapidation.

The signing ceremony was carried out by the state Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engineer Abdullahi Umar Farouk in Birnin Kebbi with assurance to the people of state of a quality job which would mark total departure from the previous substandard projects executed in the past.

The Commissioner disclosed that, asphalt would be provided, besides putting in place perimeter fence, gates, stalls, offices for the NURTW as well as open gallery and restaurant amongst others.

He pointed out that, critiques of Governor Nasir Idris led administration had been put to shame because the Governor within few months in office had taken the state to the bigger heights and with the new motor park project which was a gateway to the state, Governor Idris remained a dependable leader.

The Managing Director of the construction firm, Engineer Salami Pius Aminu, assured the completion of the project within the stipulated time and also go along with the project specifications.

Speaking shortly after the ceremony, Kebbi State Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers, (NURTW) Atiku Aliyu Gwandu, thanked the state government for coming to their aid because they would soon be amongst the league of unions with befitting motor Parks in the country.

The contract was awarded to AMIJAPP Nigeria Limited and expected to be completed in the next twelve months.
