SENATE SETS MARCH 17 FOR PASSAGE OF ₦48.472TRN 2026 BUDGET

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Senate has scheduled March 17, 2026, for the final consideration and passage of the ₦48.472 trillion 2026 budget. The decision was taken by the Senate Committee on Appropriations during a closed-door session.

Budget consideration at committee level will run in February, alongside a public hearing to ensure an inclusive process. The committee said the timeline is designed to allow thorough scrutiny, with hard copies of the budget already distributed to lawmakers to support detailed review.
