ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNOR SOLICITS FG SUPPORT TO REVIVE PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN THE STATE                                                                                 18-10-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                      Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has solicited the support of the Federal government to revive public schools in the State.

He made this known during a courtesy visit on the Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman in Abuja

The Governor explained that findings had shown that the standard of education in public schools had deteriorated and efforts must be intensified to revitalize them to be at par with their counterparts as well as give opportunity to children of the poor to aspire.
”Recent analysis indicated that the weakest seemed to be the public school that is owned and provided by the government. And this public school happen to be where you have the poorest of the poor children and we have decided to intentionally focus to be able to lift public education and our target is to make them smart”.

Governor Soludo said steps already take by the his administration to improve the educational system in the state include putting an end to PTA teachers and
Upgrade of infrastructure.

The Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman commended the Governor his contributions to the development of basic and secondary education in the state and promised to assist states enhance the standard of education for the growth of the nation.
”We have seen and heard from you the immense contributions you have done to turn around education in the state focusing on the foundational aspect of education. we will continue to provide the policies to ensure that no state is left behind and no child of Nigeria is left without education”

The Minister of State, Dr. Yusuf Sununu said the government would welcome any initiative aimed at reducing the number of out of school children in the country.
