GOVERNOR ABBA KABIR YUSUF PRESENTS 2024 PROPOSED BUDGET OF 407 BILLION 27-10-23
By Sadiq Aminu Kano State Governor, Engineer Abba Kabiri Yuauf presented a proposed Budget of N407 billion Naira for 2024 fiscal year to the State Assembly.
The Governor presented the proposed Budget during the house Plenary held in Kano.
The total proposal of N407billion , tagged Budget of restoration and transformation has the Sum of over 215 billion Naira representing 62% as capital Expenditure, while the the sum of over one hundred and thirty four billion Naira Representing 38% was meant for Recurrent expenditure.
He said education being one of the top priority of his administration, received the highest allocation of 95 billion Naira, equivalent to 30% percent of the whole Budget estimate.
The Governor explained that, the sum of over thirty-eight billion Naira has been earmarked for payment of local and foreign scholarship,registration fees, construction of infrastructure at the three state owned universities, polytechnics, learning center,academic block, surgical center among others.
He maintained that, the sum of over 51.4 billion Billion Naira was set aside for the Health sector, general administration 45.1, while works and housing will gulp the sum of 40.4 billion Naira.
Other sectors that received maximum attention includes Agriculture, security law and justice, water supply, environment, Commerce, women youths and disable,rural and community development,land and physical planning,transportation among others.
Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Alhaji Isma’il Jibril Falgore said the Assembly has passed the Kano State Supplementary Appropriation Bill 2023 and Kano state community reorientation bill 2023.
He stressed that, the house has adopted over 55 resolutions from bills presented, which cuts across various sectors.
The speaker, charged heads of government’s ministries agencies and parastarals to prepare all the necessary Documents for defending the budgets of their respective agency’s.
Alhaji Isma’il Jibril pointed out that, the legislatures will compliment government’s efforts,by expediting action in ensuring speedy passage of the bill for timely implementation.
