By Sadiq Aminu                                                                The House of Representatives has mandated it’s Committee on Foreign Affairs to carry out a holistic investigation into the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and missions.
This resolution by the green Chamber was sequel to a motion of urgent Public Importance by Mr. Ben Etanabene, a member representing  Okpe, Sapele, Uvwie Federal Constituency of Delta State.
Mr. Etanabene, said in spite of the efforts by the government, Nigerians around the world are faced with general and urgent Consular Services Challenge.
The lawmaker explained that many Nigerian students are stranded in foreign land over issues that can be resolved as well as many Nigerians owned businesses around the world helping in contributing to the economy of those countries and sending remittances back home are suffering harassment and sabotage.
He said the committee had received several complaints regarding issues of employments in the ministry and missions, appointments, postings, redeployment and disciplinary issues that affect morals and service delivery as well as image of Nigeria as a nation.
Adopting the motion the House referred the matter to the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and mandated the committee to report back within three weeks
