FIRST LADY SECURES ₦20BN FOR NATIONAL LIBRARY REVIVAL

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu announced that over ₦20.4 billion has been raised to complete the long-abandoned National Library. The funds came through the “Oluremi @65 Fund,” which closes in December.

She described the project as her personal passion, recalling how books shaped her life as a child and teacher. Quoting John F. Kennedy, she urged Nigerians to embrace service, saying “it doesn’t take much to do good.”

Mrs Tinubu expressed hope that with continued support, the 11-floor library will be completed in two years, assuring that President Bola Tinubu is committed to making it a reality.
