NIGERIAN ARMY CONDUCTS SENIOR STAFF COURSE QUALIFYING EXAMINATION FOR MIDDLE CADRE OFFICERS 12-08-24
By Sadiq Aminu Candidates for this year’s senior staff course qualifying examination in the Nigerian Army have been charged to put in the seriousness and determination that would produce the best result.
Commander, Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Major General Kelvin Aligbe gave the charge in his inaugural address to candidates of this year’s examination exercise, held at the Jaji Military Cantonment in Kaduna State.
Major General Kelvin Aligbe, who is also the President of the examination panel, explained that the exams was a major pre-requisite for the candidates to attend the senior staff course at Jaji or any of the subscribed staff colleges overseas.
He pointed out that the exams was also an assessment of candidates’ present level of proficiency, as well as to determine their capabilities to undertake higher responsibilities that may be assigned to them now or in future.
The examination President, who highlighted the conduct of the examination, requirements for the award of ‘pass’ and examination security, charged the participants to have absolute confidence in their ability and a dogged determination to succeed in a legally and accepted way.
Major General Aligbe assured of the panel’s commitment to carryout a meticulous and painstaking marking of their booklets, accurate recording of their marks and shall be firm and fair to all the candidates.
Earlier in his welcome address, Commander Infantry Corps, Major General Olufemi Oluyede stressed the need for the candidates to abide by the examination rules and maintain high standards of integrity and discipline expected of officers of the Nigerian Army.
The Corps Commander, who is also the chief host, assured all participants that adequate measures have been put in place to ensure a successful conduct of the examination.
Major General Oluyede warned the candidates against unnecessary movements along with Kaduna-Jaji-Zaria road at night.
A total of Two Hundred and Seventy-three candidates in the rank of Captains are expected to participate in this year’s senior staff qualifying examination for promotion to their next rank of Majors in the Nigerian Army.
