KIDNAPPING: ZAMFARA POLICE COMMAND REASSURES SAFE RESCUE OF ALL KIDNAPPED STUDENTS OF FUG                                                                 24-09-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       On 22 Sept, 2023 suspected Armed Bandits ridden on about fifty Motor Cycles armed with sophisticated weapons invaded three residents of students’ rented hostels in Sabon Gida Village near the Federal University Gusau and kidnapped unspecified numbers of students to an unknown destination.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Yazid Abubakar gives the update in a statement issued to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital.

The bandits also entered the University premises and ransacked some offices as the school is unfenced.

On receiving the information, striking force of the Command swung into search and rescue operations, which yielded a positive result and seven 7 kidnapped victims so far have been rescued and reunited with the Management of the School.

Similarly, the Commissioner of Police Zamfara State Police Command, Cp Muhammad Shehu Dalijan, and his management team visited the scene and put some measures in place.

However, the security of the area intensified and normalcy has been restored adding that, proactive measures have been taken to avoid the reoccurrence of the incident.

The command also appeals to the good people of the state to maintain the tempo as the command in collaboration with the other security agencies and state government will do all needful to protect lives and properties and salvage the state from all forms of crimes and criminality.
