ACF VISITS KANO STATE HISBAH SEEKS AN END TO CHILD ABDUCTION                                                                      23-01-24

By  Sadiq Aminu                                                      The Arewa consultative forum (ACF), has called on northern governors, to set up mobile courts, to treat cases of abduction, drug peddling and abuse, phone snatching and other societal vices.

Speaking during a visit to Kano state hisbah board headquarters,the chairman ACF, Kano chapter Dr. Faruk Umar Goni explained that, the abduction of underage children from the northern part of Nigeria is alarming, hence the need for more efforts to mitigate the scourge.

According to him, the meeting was convened to show concern with the way children are abducted from Kano and other northern states, while some were sold by doctors as confirmed by the police.

“Drug peddling and abuse, phone snatching are serious issues, though the Kano police command has made tremendous progress on the issue of phone snatching ”

The chairman urged the Nigerian government, traditional institutions, security agencies, community leaders, judiciary and the legislature to put hands on deck, to bring an end to the unfortunate situation.

He reiterated the forum’s commitment in collaborating with Kano state hisbah board to achieve the desired objectives.

The commander general Kano state hisbah board, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daura pointed out that,the visit by ACF is a clear indication of their dedication in moving the state forward.

He stressed that, the Kano state hisbah board, would not relent in it’s efforts of sanitizing Kano, free of all forms of vices, and would to everything possible to support Arewa consultative forum(ACF).

Africa 247 reports that, NDLEA, NAPTIP, Civil defence,NGOs and NHFSS were part of the delegation that visited the state hisbah board.
