KANO STATE FEDERAL LAWMAKERS REJECT TAX REFORM BILLS                                                                                                                   04-12-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                The Tax reform bills before National Assembly have continued to generate controversies, while some lawmakers have declared their supports for the Bills, some have equally opposed the bills.
The Kano state NNPP Caucus in the House of Representatives has unanimously rejected the controversial Presidential Tax reform Bills.
At a News briefing in Abuja, the group described the timing of the bill as unwarranted considering the economic situations Nigerians are passing through.
The leader of the group, a member representing Dawakin, Tofa, Rimin, Gado Federal Constituency of Kano State, Mr. Abdulkadir Tijani Jobe, explained that the proposed legislation would further intensify the sufferings of many Nigerians who are already battling with the current economic situation.
According to Mr. Abdulkadir Jobe, their positions on the Bills were based on the interest of their people whom they represent at the National Assembly.

The Group pledged their commitment to support any policies and Programmes of the government that prioritize the needs and the interests of their people and Nigerians at large.
