By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 The Labour Party, LP, caucus in the House of Representatives said Nigerian citizens have faced difficulties in the past one year of President Bola Tinubu’s administration that require urgent measures to addressed.
In a State-of-the-Nation statement by the Leader of the Caucus, Mr. Afam Victor Ogene, the Party described the one year APC led government by President Tinubu as challenging as Nigerians struggle to cope with the economic and security challenges.

According to the Labour Party House of Representatives Members, the current staggering economic indices is a source of concerns to many Nigerians.
The Party stated that the latest report of the National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, indicated that food inflation rate in March 2024 was 40.01 percent on a year-on-year basis – an increase of 15.56 percent points higher, compared to the 24.45 percent rate recorded in March 2023.

The LP lawmakers also noted that the nation’s economy has continued on free fall with no much hope of recovery soon.
The Labour Party said as the nation begins her journey into the second year of the present administration, the party called on President Tinubu to as a matter of urgency, prioritise and minimize the suffering of Nigerians, by ensuring food security, access to clean water, healthcare and education.

The Labour Party House of Representatives Caucus called on the government to intensify the fight against corruption, with transparent governance and accountability being paramount.
