INEC declares APC’s Umar Bago as Governor elect

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in Niger State has declared the candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC), Umar Mohammed Bago,the winner of the governorship election conducted on 18th March 2023.
Umar Mohammed Bago having polled (469,896 votes),against the candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Isah Liman Kantigi who got  (387,476 votes)
Announcing the results of 25 local council areas of the state,the Niger State collation officer for the 2023 general elections, Professor Clement Alawa, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics, University of Abuja, says Umar Mohammed Bago of APC was declared winner of the election.
“Having certisfy as the duely elected governor, Umar Mohammed Bago is hereby declared the winner of the governorship election conducted on 18th March 2023” Prof. Alawa said.
Shortely after the declaration of Umar Bago as the elected governor, the Special Adviser to Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, Alhaji Nma Kolo enjoined the stakeholders to join hand with the governor elect to build the state.
“The new administration will be all inclusive, therefore,our doors will be widely open for every stakeholder across board”Nma Kolo assured.
Umar Mohammed Bago of APC  went into the contest with other candidates from 14 political parties.
