FG DONATES 500 MILLION NAIRA TO THE 2025 EMBLEM APPEAL OF THE ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE DAY                                                                                              29-10-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                    The Federal Government has donated 500 million Naira to the 2025 Emblem Appeal of the Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

The donation was presented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, at the launch of the Emblem Appeal Fund, presided over by President Bola Tinubu.

Subsequently, Senate President Godswill Akpabio donated 200 million to the fund on behalf of the National Assembly.

Similarly, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, donated 50 million Naira on behalf of Service Chiefs.

The Nigerian Armed Forces Remembrance Day is an annual event, marked on January 15 to honour the nation’s fallen heroes who paid the supreme sacrifice during the First and Second World Wars.
