FRSC TO LAUNCH UPGRADED TECH SYSTEM FOR DRIVER’S LICENCES AND NUMBER PLATES

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) will introduce a new, technology-driven system for processing driver’s licences and vehicle number plates before the end of the month.

Corps Marshal Mallam Shehu Mohammed announced this in Abuja during the 2025 Customer Service Week, describing the upgrade as a key step toward modernising FRSC operations and improving service delivery.

He apologised to Nigerians for recent delays in obtaining licences and plates, assuring that the new system will enhance efficiency, reduce waiting time, and strengthen data integrity.

Mallam Mohammed praised motorists and stakeholders for their patience and loyalty, noting that public trust remains central to the Corps’ success. He reaffirmed FRSC’s commitment to safer roads through effective policy enforcement and continuous innovation.

He also urged motorists to keep obeying traffic rules, emphasising that safety must remain everyone’s priority.

The Customer Service Week celebrates the dedication of service providers and customers’ support in driving institutional excellence.
