NIGER STATE GOVERNOR VISITS CHIEF OF DEFENCE STAFF.

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago has called for the continued support of Nigerian Army in addressing the security challenges bedeviling some parts of the state.

The Governor made the call at the Defence Headquarters Abuja when he visited the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa to seek for his support in fighting banditry.

Alh Mohammed Umar Bago explained that Niger state is surrounded by water which makes the state vulnerable to security challenges that required collective efforts by all to succeed.

He also appreciated the Nigerian Armed Forces for their genuine efforts at eliminating criminal elements and called for more support towards achieving the desired objectives.

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa reassured Governor Umar Bago that the Armed Forces remain committed in its quest to surmounting the insecurity in Niger state and Nigeria.

He acknowledged the strategic nature of Niger State and said, the Armed Forces will do its best to ensure that Citizens go about living normal lives free from attacks.

Meanwhile Governor Umar Bago has extended his sympathy to the Nigerian Airforce over the crash of MI 171 helicopter at Chikuba community in Shiroro local government council of Niger state.
