FG TO PAY 7.13 BILLION NAIRA COMPENSATION FOR LAGOS-CALABAR COASTAL ROAD PROJECT                                                                                                         30-05-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                  The Federal government is to pay Seven point one three billion Naira as compensation to the second batch of those affected by the demolition of buildings to make way for the construction of the Lagos-Calabar coastal way.

The Minister of Works, Mr Dave Umahi stated this while briefing newsmen on the Legacy Projects of President Bola Tinubu led administration in Abakaliki.

The Minister noted that the Coastal Road had been realigned at kilometer twenty to save Okuaja Community and the communication submarine cables which were on the right of way of the project.

Mr Umahi said the Federal government would in the next two months complete the design for a six lanes road project to connect Ishieke Junction in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State and Otukpo Benue State measuring about forty six kilometers.

The Minister added that when completed, the number of hours travellers spend on their way to Abuja from some parts of South East and South South Zones would be reduced.
