DANGOTE REFINERY IS LOADING THE FIRST SET OF TRUCKS WITH IT’S LOCAL REFINED PREMIUM MOTOR SPIRIT, FOR THE NIGERIAN MARKET CONSUMPTION 15-09-24
By Sadiq Aminu The Dangote Refinery has said it was already loading the first set of Trucks with its local refined Premium Motor Spirit, PMS for the Nigerian market consumption.
The refinery had set Sunday the 15th of September to begin dispensing its product while the NNPCL had also deployed over 300 trucks to the Dangote Refinery in Lagos to lift the product.
In a message on its “X” platform, the Refinery shared videos of Tankers being loaded with the product for onward distribution across the country.
The executive vice president of the downstream at Nigeria National Petroleum Company limited, NNPCL, Adedapo Segun in a media parley in Lagos also cleared that the NNPCL will not set the market price for petrol, instead, global market prices will dictate.
He emphasized that the NNPCL is no longer a regulator in the market but operates as a business entity like others and explained that the Company can only negotiate with the Dangote Refinery over pricing.
Meanwhile, the NNPCL has confirmed that it bought the PMS from the refinery at N898 per liter.
In an SMS, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the NNPCL Olufemi Soneye said At least, over 70 trucks have been loaded so far.
