According to him, the Takai Fire Service Station received a distress call from Inspector Auwalu, regarding a pit latrine tragedy.

He pointed out that a rescue team was immediately mobilized to the scene.

Saminu explained that on arrival the team discovered that a 40-year-old Usman Muhammad had accidentally dropped his phone into a pit latrine and went in to retrieve it.

He noted that his friend Ibrahim Inuwa, followed in an attempt to rescue Usman by tying a rope around him.

“Ibrahim also lost consciousness while inside the pit”

“Our men rushed to the scene and successfully rescued both men, but they were found unconscious and later confirmed dead,”

Similarly a 33-year-old man, Muhammad Sagir, lost his life after falling into a dry well at Kawon Alhaji Sani Layin Mai, Nasarawa LGA.
