GOV MUTFWANG WARNS AGAINST POLITICIZING SECURITY ISSUES

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

Governor Caleb Mutfwang has cautioned against politicizing the security challenges facing Plateau State, saying such actions only worsen the situation.

He made this call while receiving the Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Senator Ken Nnamani, and his team at the Government House in Jos.

The Governor stressed the need for NIPSS to provide credible security intelligence to the Presidency for effective action, rather than allowing wrong narratives to thrive.

He also commended Senator Nnamani’s past contributions to national development and urged him to use his experience to strengthen the institute’s role in addressing pressing issues.

Senator Nnamani, on his part, congratulated the Governor for the relative peace in the state and lauded Plateau’s cultural troupe for representing Nigeria at the UN event in Washington DC.

The Director General of NIPSS, Professor Ayo Omotayo, highlighted ongoing efforts on land compensation and called for more government support, particularly in security and infrastructure around the institute.
