HAJJ 2026: LOWER FARES, RENEWED HOPE FOR NIGERIAN PILGRIMS

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) says preparations for the 2026 Hajj have begun on a hopeful note, with reduced fares for Nigerian pilgrims.

Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for supporting talks that secured better deals from Saudi service providers. Agreements were signed to cover transport, accommodation, and meals, with a firm reminder that Nigerian pilgrims must enjoy the same standards of service as others worldwide.

During a courtesy visit to the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, officials welcomed Nigeria’s efforts but stressed strict compliance with deadlines and regulations.

NAHCON has now announced the official fares for 2026 and appealed to intending pilgrims to complete payments by December to ensure smooth arrangements.
