POLICE ARRESTS NOTORIOUS KIDNAPPER KANO                                                                                                05-02-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                     The Kano State Police Command says it has arrested one Isa Lawal a notorious kidnapper and cattle rustler with 55 cows in Karaye Local Government Area of the state.

The state Commissioner of Police, Malam Hussaini Gumel disclosed this to Africa 247 correspondent in Kano.

He said the notorious kidnapper was arrested by the Anti kidnap squad.

” on Feb.4 at about 17:40 hours one Isa Lawal a notorious kidnapper of Kaya village in Giwa LGA of Kaduna State was arrested at Karaye LGA with 55 cows,6 sheep’s.”

The CP maintained that the suspect confessed that they were running out from Maidaro bandit camp via Birnin Gwari LGA of Kaduna State after fighting with their rival camp led by Boderi Isiya of the same address.

“The suspect narrated identity of his gang leader as Bashir Snu of Malfashi LGA of Katsina State which was killed during the fight with his second in command one Muazu Snu and ran away with three AK47 riffles and many cattles.”

CP Mohammad Hussein Gumel noted that the suspect said that they were preparing to settle in the forest of Gwarzo and Kareye LGAs

He further confessed to have participated along with other camps members in several kidnapping and cattle rustling in Kaduna, Katsina and Zamfara states along with their leader Muazu Mai Bokolo of Malufashi LGA of Katsina State who is now at large and escaped with three AK47 riffles upon sighting the police team .

He further explained that four other suspects , Yalo, Bala, Ibrahim and Sunusi of the same address also escaped.

“We have since lunch a serious manhunt and investigation was going to arrest the fleeting suspects and recovers arms.”

Gumel assured commitment of the police to provide adequate security for citizenry.
